How We Help
Children use art and play as ways of expressing where they are having difficulties. Dee is able to help them discover creative solutions in order to make positive change. Family involvement moves this process forward. Individual therapy is clinical, and Dee accepts many insurances.
Some examples of things that cause challenging behaviors and are reasons to seek art and play therapy with Dee include:
- Anxiety
- Siblings of Autism
- ADHD and regulation difficulties
- Anger and Aggression
- Depression
- Trauma and Loss
- Adoption and Divorce
- Social Skills (making and keeping friends)
Therapy Groups
Childrens' art therapy groups are held on Saturdays at Andover Mental Health Associates, LLC. Dee organizes the counseling groups according to ages and issues, with family coordination. She may be the primary or adjunct therapist. Group therapy is a great way for children to learn, share, and practice new skills with other children. Insurance does not cover these groups; they are self pay. Please contact Dee for dates, topics, and costs.
